Jeff Russell’s STARSHIP DIMENSIONS is a great sci-fi resource for GMs, as well as an all-around fun site to visit. It lets you compare famous sci-fi spaceships — everything from Cardassian Keldons to Imperial Star Destroyers — side by side and in scale with one another.
If you use Internet Explorer (hissss!), you can even drag the ships around on the page for more direct comparisons (which rocks on toast).
I’m amazed no one has commented on this yet. Must be busy over on the wiki.
I’m amazed I haven’t wasted away playing on that website going, oooh spaceship is “this big”.
Well, it’s not a new site — it’s been around for ages, I just hadn’t linked to it before. Miniposts also don’t tend to generate too many comments (although there have been some exceptions), so I’m not too worried on that front.
On the timewasting front, I feel your pain. 😉
Yea, I had seen that site some time ago. Cool site, though since I’ve long been out of the mood for SF gaming, and mostly wouldn’t use ships from SF fiction/movies anyway, and I haven’t seen more than half the movies/shows represented, it’s interest to me is sort of minimal.
Top scores for interface though.
