Gnome Stew is nominated for Best Blog in the 2011 GenCon EN World RPG Awards (the “ENnies”), and I would like to ask for your support: Please vote for Gnome Stew!
Voting takes about 30 seconds, is open to everyone, and doesn’t require registration or any other fiddly stuff. You can vote in just the Best Blog category, if you like, and voting is open through July 24th.
It’s this easy:
- Visit the ENnies voting page
- Scroll down to Best Blog
- Click the down arrow symbol next to Gnome Stew
- Enter your vote (1 is the highest score you can give us)
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Submit Ballot!” button
That’s really it! Thank you very, very much for your vote!
We deliberately try to ask you, our readers, for very little; you don’t need us breathing down your neck asking for stuff all of the time. Your support won us the silver ENnie for Best Blog in 2010, and got our first book, Eureka, nominated for a 2010 Golden Geek Award for Best Supplement — thank you! — and those are the two biggest things we’ve asked for. This is the third.
This award means a lot to me personally, in large part because of the doors it can open. Recognition in the form of an ENnie — in this case, a second ENnie — can lead to freelancing gigs, new opportunities, and more. I want the creative team behind the Stew to have a crack at those opportunities, and winning a second ENnie will help all of us do that.
If you have time, please vote in as many categories as you feel comfortable voting in; this award matters to a lot of people, and can open doors for all of the nominees. If you vote in just one, though, please make it ours!
Every single ENnies vote matters. I know that sounds cliched, but it’s true — past ENnies have been decided by incredibly slim margins.
Got an Extra Few Minutes?
Once nominations are in, the ENnie Awards are a popularity contest — and voting is open to anyone, not just gamers.
If the Stew is your home page, if you visit daily (or read our feed daily), or if you feel a personal connection to the site, please ask your friends, players, gaming group, forum buddies, family, coworkers, and anyone else you think would donate 30 seconds of their time to vote for Gnome Stew. We’ve done the same thing ourselves (thanks, Mom and Dad!), and it’s exactly this kind of outreach and grassroots support that wins ENnies.
You’re welcome to use the voting “script” provided above. We’ve found that it’s especially good for family members and other non-gamers, as well as folks who don’t keep up with the ENnies but want to offer their support.
Again, thank you for supporting the Stew!
(If by some chance you’ve made it this far without voting…please go vote!)
BEFORE VOTING… scroll down to the bottom of the form and see if there is a Submit button there. There isn’t for me in Firefox or IE and you will waste a lot of time making selections you can’t submit.
Weird! It looks fine for me in FF — far right, under the Favorite Publisher category.
I know they beta tested the voting booth, so hopefully this is a one-off problem. I hope you’ll try again, Noumenon!
I voted for you (and for some other stuff), and FF worked just fine.
Voted. Asked my rpg club to vote. Good luck, Gnomes!
Oh, that’s funny. The button is there, but it is at the bottom of the second column, and the columns are not even, so I have to hit page up two times to see it. I could blame the fact that it looks like an ad, not a button, but I just think I was expecting it to be at the very bottom of the page like most submit buttons are.
Thank you for voting for us, Trace, Razjah, and Noumenon!
Voted!
@hets – Thank you!
Wearing a sticker on my shirt today that says “I Voted.”
Kudos to the Gnomes and Flagons & Dragons podcast.
@MonsterMike – Thank you very much!
